2013 Fall NABC: Martin Fleisher is leading the Reisinger

phoenix logoThere were forty-two teams registered in Reisinger BAM Trophy, the event were each board is worth one point. Twenty of them have been qualified for the so called 20 team semifinal, a round robin of three board each match, thus fifty-seven boards. This semifinal will be played starting from 1 p.m. in Phoenix time (MST; London +7; CET +8). Below the reader can see the standing; the score is a percentage carried from the qualification.

The leading team is Martin Fleisher‘s, with Chris Willenken, Zia Mahmood, Michael Kamil, Michael Rosenberg, Chip Martel. Second comes Jimmy Cayne, with Michael Seamon, Alfredo Versace, Lorenzo Lauria, Ron Pachtmann, Eldad Ginossar. There are two Italians with Cayne, but he won the 2010 and 2011’s editions with four Italians; the missing pair is Duboin-Sementa, not come to Phoenix.

Third placed is Eric Greco with John Diamond, Brian Platnick, Geoff Hampson. Fourth is the first utter European Team: Andrew Gromov and Aleksander Dubinin from Russia; Krzysztof Buras and Grzegorz Narkiewicz from Poland; Norberto Bocchi and Agustin Madala from Italy. Others Italians are Fulvio Fantoni and Claudio Nunes, 8-14th in Zimmermann‘s Team, 2012 title holder; Saverio Margiotta and Massimiliano Di Franco in Ramaratnam‘s, also 8-14th.

 The casualties in the qualification round are impressive: Kit Woolsey, Fred Stewart, William Pollack Howard Weinstein, David Bakhshi, Jack Zhao, Nick Nickell (seven time winner!), Ralph Katz, Jeff Meckstroth, Eric Rodwell, Robert Levin, Steve Weinstein, Bjorn Fallenius, Johan Upmark, Peter Fredin, Fredrik Nystrom, John McAllister, George Mittelman, and other less famous but still strong players.
