Dennis Bilde

At the Age of 23 the Danish champion, Dennis Bilde, is one of the youngest players to have won the prestigious Vanderbilt Trophy.  At the Spring Nationals partnering his father, Morten, as members of the Auken (Sabine) Team it was a first for a team made up of largely players from Denmark to score a victory at one of the US majors.  Thus we are pleased to honour his brilliant performance with a portrait from Christina Lund Madsen.

Dennis Bilde (Denmark) is a 23 year old junior and two times Junior World Champion. He is potentially Denmark’s greatest future international bridge star, especially considering he doesn’t have time for a job due to his bridge engagements. His biggest strength as a player are his instinctive table presence and his excellent partner skills.

At the age of 18 he was part of Denmark’s victorious team in the World Junior Championship in 2008; however he did not succeed bringing home the gold, since he lost his medal during the celebration…

Now he is older and wiser, and after taking part to the World Junior Individual Championship in 2010, he managed to bring home the gold all the way to Denmark.

Dennis is son and partner of Morten Bilde, an experienced player for the Danish open team. His mother is Dorthe Bilde, who has also successfully represented Denmark in the women’s team during the 90’s. Dennis will represent the Danish junior team this summer in the Junior EC in Poland with his partner Emil Jepsen, fellow world champion from 2008.
