Allegra Lavazza Team from Turin (Italy) won the 11th European Champions’ Cup in Eilat (Israel) defeating in final the other Italian team, Angelini from Rome. In the playoff for third place Monaco FM team defeated Bridge Club Real from Russia and achieved the podium.
The road to the final – In the Round Robin Pierre Zimmermann’s Monaco and Bridge Club Real from Russia won Group A and Group B respectively. Angelini (A) and Lavazza Allegra (B) were the runners-up. In semi-finals Allegra Lavazza booked a clear victory over Monaco (144-93) where Angelini defeated Real from Russia by 94 to 81.
Allegra Lavazza team is invited to defend its title in the next edition of the competition, to be held in November 2013 in Opatija, (Croatia).
Podium:
1th – Allegra Lavazza from Turin (Italy): Norberto Bocchi, Giorgio Duboin, Guido Ferraro, Agustin Madala, Antonio Sementa and Massimo Ortensi (coach).
2nd – Angelini team from Rome (Italy): Ercole Bove (npc), Leonardo Cima, Valerio Giubilo, Lorenzo Lauria, Federico Primavera and Alfredo Versace.
3rd – Monaco FM: Jean-Charles Allavena (npc), Fulvio Fantoni, Geir Helgemo Tor Helness, Franck Multon, Claudio Nunes and Pierre Zimmermann.
