InterCity League: Wroclaw batte Glasgow e vince l’edizione di autunno 2012

ICLQuesta è la prima vittoria della squadra polacca, ma nessuno finora ha vinto più di una volta tranne Ascoli Piceno; Wroclaw si era liberata di Ascoli in semifinale. Questi sono i nuovi campioni: Voytec Rozwadowski, Jacek Baranowski, Kazimier Sugocki, Piotr Brzezinski, Maciek Hutyra, Rafal Wolanski (capitano giocatore). E questi sono i secondi: Helen e Danny Kane, John Murdoch, Jim McMenenny, Eyal Ben Zvi, Cliff Gillis (capitano giocatore).

E’ interessante il fatto che Wolanski, polacco, viveva in Scozia fino a pochi anni fa, quindi poteva giocare le Home International Series, vale a dire il Camrose Trophy, sfida tra le cinque squadre britanniche, e infatti giocò nel 2009 nella squadra scozzese. Manco a dirlo, il suo compagno fu appunto Cliff Gillis, ieri capitano avversario!

Il risultato è stato 72-67 in trentadue mani, non per cuori deboli: dopo la prima metà Wroclaw conduceva di 45 imp; dopo trenta delle trentadue mani era invece in testa Glasgow di sei.

La nuova edizione di Intercity League – primavera 2013 – inizierà nella seconda settimana di marzo.
