This weekend (6-8th Jan) the Camrose series commences when England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland will be joined by a Scottish Bridge union 6th team to compete for the Camrose Trophy currently held by the Welsh team. Wales will feature 5 players from their historic first win amongst their 8 man squad, although only 3 will feature this weekend with Mike Pownall returning to international action after a lengthy absence.

England are bolstered by the return of Forrester & Robson playing with Gold and Alfrey respectively and complete their team with Patterson and Crouch for the first weekend. Bringing in the Gold cup winners for the 2nd weekend.

Ireland rest all of their European silver medal winners but still field a team packed with international experience despite James Henessy making his international debut.

Scotland recall Wilkinson and Piper to join 4 other players who have previous experience of lifting the trophy and will hope to build on their performance last year where they were clear winners of the 2nd weekend.

Northern Ireland feature a very experienced team with Clara Burns and John Murchan recalled to bolster the regular foursome of Anderson, Greenwood, Hastings Cambell & Mckenzie.

Whilst the SBU team feature 3 partnerships keen to make a strong impression this year.

First up live on BBO on Friday will be England / Northern Ireland, Wales / Ireland and Scotland v SBU.
