Inaugural SportAccord World Mind Games: Italy withdrew

Italy withdrew from the inaugural edition of SportAccord World Mind Games. Italian team will be replaced by Dutch team.  The event is organized by IMSA and SportAccord according the agreement signed during the latest edition of the SportAccord International Convention held in London – UK (3/8 April 2011).The inaugural SportAccord World Mind Games will take place in the Beijing International Convention Center, in Beijing, China, 10-16 December 2011.

 The event is organized by IMSA and SportAccord according the agreement signed during the latest edition of the SportAccord International Convention held in London – UK (3/8 April 2011).

IMSA is the International Mind Sports Association. SportAccord is the umbrella organisation for all (Olympic and non-Olympic) international sports federations as well as organisers of multi-sports games and sport-related international associations.

Announcing the event  IMSA  also reported the four Countries invited: China – Italy – USA and Norway. (read IMSA press release)

Last summer the WBF (Word Bridge Federation)  published the list of players participating in the next SportAccord World Mind Games: Italy was included with Dario Antonio Attanasio, Norberto Bocchi, Giorgio Duboin, Giuseppe Failla, Agustin Madala, Antonio Sementa. (read IMSA press release)

In the last press release issued jointly by IMSA and SportAccord Italy is no longer included among the participating teams, but for the first time the Netherlands are included. (read press release)

No official reason has been notified about.
