23th European Youth Team Championship: Juniors and Youngsters

The 23th European Youth Team Championship in Albena – Juniors (under 26). Israel reached  the gold medal: Alon Birman, Lotan Fisher, Gal Gerstner, Moshe Meyuchas, Dror Padon, Ron Schwarz. Second place for Italy (Francesco De Leo, Giuseppe Delle Cave, Massimiliano Di Franco, Riccardo Locatelli, Agustin Madala, Riccardo Rubino) and  bronze to Denmark.

“Italy may have a world-class player in its team, but we have six Madala’s”: These are the joking statements of  Gilad Ofif  (Israel’s teammanager ) reported by .

Youngsters (under 21): In the Youngsters Chamopions Poland wins the gold medal,  Israel  the silver and bronze to Sweden.

Italian team reached the sixth place: Alesssandro Calmanovici, Giovanni Donati, Alessandro Pruna, Alberto Racca, Roberto Sau, Gabriele Zanasi.

Silvio Sbarigia


SILVIO SBARIGIA is a pharmacist; he was born in Rome and lives there. He has won the European championship in 1975 with legendary Blue Team, runner up at 1974’s and at Olympic games of 1976.  Sbarigia is member of Neapolitan Club Technical Commettee.
