Just ended the Vilnius Bridge Festival. This morning the open teams final has been played: Polirish team (Brede-Strzemecki, Hanlon-McGann) has defeated Mesbur team (Fitzgibbon-Mesbur, Garroll-Garvey) by 26 to 10,2. Italian players are on Vilnius podium too: in the play-off for the third place Breno team (Lauria-Versace, Giubilo-Zaleski) has defeated Erikas team (E.Vainikonis-Arlovich, Buras-Narkiewicz, Chmurski-Puczyński) by 23 to 22,1.
For the first time, during the festival, the overall classification has been scored and rewarded. The winner receives the Trophy dedicated to the memory of Jan Romański, Polish tournament director, creator of the bridge software which enabled to raise the presentation of the tournament results to 21.st century level, who died in June 2011. And the winner of this prestigious Trophy is Italian star Lorenzo Lauria with 402 points.
