Friday night in Montegrotto the team of Romain Zaleski takes the field. Next to the young but already titled pair D’Avossa – Intonti, we can see an unusual triad: Zaleski will alternate at the table with Valerio Giubilo and Apek Kowalski. The pair Versace-Lauria, in fact, doesn’t take part in the Montegrotto Bridge Festival because in these days is involved in the Spring North American Bridge Championships in Louisville (Kentucky).
After winning the Reisinger Cup, Lorenzo and Alfredo play for Vanderbilt Cup with the team of Jimmy Caine: in Louisville they will meet their friends Norberto Bocchi and Guido Ferraro, who play the same tournament with the team of George Jacobs.
The tournament of Montegrotto, in the meantime, will be a good test for the “new” pair Zaleski-Kowalski that we will see at work again in Poland at the Fifth European Championship in Poznan (June 2011).
In two weeks’ time the whole Zaleski team will be reunited in Breno (Brescia) where official celebrations are planned for the victory of the Italian Cup, the first trophy won by the new team last December.
