2011 Italian Open Team Championships. Tomorrow the ninth and final round will be played. The team of Romain Zaleski is firmly  in the lead. This team is officially called ‘Sbarigia – Canottieri Roma’.  The  non-playing captain is Silvio Sbarigia, a former Olympic and European bridge champion from Rome,  member of Neapolitan Club Techincal Committee. The other team members are Alfredo Versace, Lorenzo Lauria, Valerio Giubilo, Riccardo Intonti, Mario D’Avossa and the sponsor Romain Zaleski.

After the divorce from Mr Angelini, Versace  and Lauria (later also Giubilo)  were hired by the new sponsor Romain Zaleski. The agreement between Mr Zaleski and the Canottieri Roma team was announced on Neapolitan Club by Sbarigia himself at the end of last summer. (click here >>)

Great disappointment for Lavazza team: after the great success at Yeh Bros Cup in China,  the team of Maria Teresa Lavazza seems  far from the Italian podium.

Silvio Sbarigia

He has won the European championship in 1975 with legendary Blue Team, runner up at 1974’s and at Olympic games of 1976.  Sbarigia is member of Neapolitan Club Technical Commettee. His bridge problems aren’t difficult; just we need to think on a plan and to avoid the instinctive playing. Bridge quizzes by Sbarigia »
