The 1st Yeh Online Bridge World Cup will take place from October 31 to November 2, 2016 under the auspices of the World Bridge Federation.


Participating Teams

(announced at Budapest 2016 bulletin No 9)

Team CHEN YEH (based in Beijing) will include Mr Yeh who will be joined by World Champions.

Team CHINA -CCBA – OURGAME (based in Beijing) will comprise Mr Zeng Peiyan, former vice premier for economy & General secretary of the Asian Economic Forum, Mr Guo Jinlong, former Mayor of Beijing plus Chinese World Champions.

Team EUROPA – LAVAZZA (based in Turin at the headquarters of Lavazza) will include the women who currently hold the top two positions in the world rankings, Sylvie Willard and Bénédicte Cronier, alongside Giorgio Duboin, Augustin Madala, and another pair to be announced.

Team USA – BBO (based in Seattle) will be Bob Hamman (the all time number 1 in the world rankings) playing with Jill Meyers (number 2 on the all time women’s list) Fred Gitelman & Sherri Winestock and Bill Gates and Sharon Osberg.

Video Coverage – At each venue there will be remotely controlled webcams monitoring each player and streaming images live across the internet. Every match will be broadcast live using BBO & Ourgame.

Online & Onsite security – In each one of the playing sites an official will be present – a top level international Tournament Director to ensure players adhere to the regulations set by the organisation. The official will be a representative from a different zone to the one where play is in progress.

Rules and Regulations – The organisation will setup dedicated regulations (Conditions of Contest) for the event, including all necessary modifications to the Laws of Bridge to adapt them for online play.
