News from Intercity League – by Tonci Radelja (Chairman of the event)

We are past two thirds of the competition. So far we had only one withdrawal, mostly due to time difference. There are still some hopes that Indian team will continue and will keep doing so well.In groups A and B we have clear favourites (Ascoli Piceno and Haskovo). Hey, what’s new?

Group A is well packed: the difference between 3rd and 8th is only 8 VPs.

In group B the difference between 5th and 8th is 20 VPs.

Group C is very well stratified: difference between 5th and 4th is 11 VP.

I am very glad that newcomers are performing very well. Not that is anything decided, with 3 matches left, but teams Larocca, Haskovo and Ascoli Piceno will most probably skip playing final 12 round.

This edition we are trying new FINAL x format. Hope you will like it. Best 4 teams from each group will qualify with winners and best 2nd not playing first KO round. Other 8 will play KO matches and winners will join those that were free to play final 8 … and so on.

Hope you all having good time playing in this league. To achieve that we all have to be friendly and assertive. That should be true especially in round robin matches where we have opponents of different abilities and sometimes even beginners.

Tonci
