Following 4 rounds of the round robin, the JICL is in full swing. Competition is fierce as only the top two spots in each group secure a place in the Knock Outs. Highest score overall is for team Munich with an impressive 89 VP. This is despite the fierce opposition they received in the last round from team Zagreb.
With 3 outstanding matches (Puszczykowo – Paris, Groenekan – Izmir, and Sofia Girls – Roma), results after 4 rounds are:

* one match outstanding
(..) team withdrawn
With a competition each week and next to – no doubt – many other activities, it is not always easy to get a full team at the table every round. This applies particularly to the teams that play in less-convenient time zones. It is encouraging to witness how captains and players are working hard to get their teams lined up each week. I share with you this verbatim quote out of a recent e-mail to the JICL organisation sent by one of the young captains:
“I’ will find a solution , because I want to play , I want to learn Bridge , and this is the reason why I ‘m going to do as much possible as I can.”
I am sure each player, regardless how her or his team scores, is learning a lot during the JICL competition!
