WBFExplanations from WBF. After the Ruling of the Lausanne Appeal Committee dated July 16th, 2014 whereby the AC confimed the ban from play against Dr. Entscho Wladow and Dr. Michael Elinescu as initially stated in a Hearing by the WBF Disciplinary Committee in Dallas in March of this year, the WBF gave us further explanation:

1. Dr. Entscho Wladow and Dr. Michael Elinescu were the only Appelants. The German Bridge Federation withdrew from the Appeal on July 4th.

2. The Appelants were not present at the hearing and were not represented by any lawyer.

3. The issue of the medals was not a subject for the Disciplinary Commission nor for the Appeal Tribunal.

4. According to article 5 of the WBF Disciplinary Code the decision of the Tribunal is definitive and binding for the WBF and the appealing party.

wladow-e01-261x198Wladow’s statement. In spite of that Dr. Wladow informed us that he opposes the outcome of the Ruling by the WBF Appeal Committee in Lausanne.  According to the WBF it was proven that both German doctors were cheating in the finals of the Seniors Bowl at the World Championships in Bali, 2013. According to Dr. Wladow however, he and his partner are innocent.

He claims that the videos, used by WBF as a proof that Unauthorized Information was exhanged by way of coughing, were manipulated and that facts delibrately were changed.

Dr. Wladow is also unhappy that he received a 106 pages document of the Dallas Hearing only a few days before the Hearing in Laussanne started: “Therefore we had no time to defend ourselves properly. What Michael does I don’t know, but I hired a layer in Lausanne to start a civil law suit. I have no intention to go to TAS (Tribunal Arbitral du Sport/ CAS  Court of Arbitration of Sport).”
