The closest result in USBC’s Round of 16 was Fleisher-Wildawsky: 227-219 the final, 200-211 before the last fifteen board segment. Congratulations to the winner, but also a fine feat by those who didn’t win. Another result which deserves to be noted is Nickell’s against Reynolds: 414-38 in ninety boards (opponents then withdrew). Is it a great comeback of a great team or a very bad day by their opponents? Let’s wait and we’ll see.
