2014 Sanya World Teams Events: Winners

Mazurkiewicz Team (Marc van Beijsterveldt - IMP Bridge)In the Transnational World Knockout Open Teams Championship, the Polish team captained by Marcin Mazurkiewicz (with Krzysztof Jassem, Wlodzimierz Starkowski,  Stanisław Gołębiowski,  Piotr Gawrys, Michał Klukowski,) won the Rosenblun Cup in Sanya. In the final match Mazurkiewicz defetaed Monaco (Pierre Zimmermann, Franck Multon, Geir Helgemo, Tor Helness, Claudio Nunes, Fulvio Fantoni) by 131 to 80.

Marion Michielsen  2 (Louk Herber)In the Transnational World Knockout Women’s Teams Championship, the team Baker (Karen McCallum-Lynn Baker, Marion Michielsen-Meike Wortel, Sally Brock-Nicola Smith) won the McConnell Cup. In the final match Baker defetaed China Red by 138.7 to 64.

Reese Milner (Peg Kaplan - USBF)

In the Transnational World Senior Teams Championship, the team Milner (Reese Milner, Hemant Lall, Philippe Cronier, Michel Bessis, Apolinary Kowalski, Jacek Romanski, Gigi Simpson NPC, Jacek Pszczola) won the Rand Cup. In the final match Milner defeated Sternberg by 112 to 74.3

 

In all teams competitions the losers of the semi-finals are considered Bronze Medallists and will receive the Master Points awarded to the 3rd place. Thus, Bronze Medallists in Teams Championships in Sanya are: Diamond and Ventin in Rosenblum Cup, Moss and Pertamina EP in McConnell Cup, Lewis and Hackett in Rand Cup.

Silvio Sbarigia

 

SILVIO SBARIGIA is a pharmacist; he was born in Rome and lives there. He has won the European championship in 1975 with legendary Blue Team, runner up at 1974’s and at Olympic games of 1976.  Sbarigia is member of Neapolitan Club Technical Commettee.
