2011 Montegrotto Bridge Festival March 7-13. Montegrotto is an ancient thermal spring place, known since the Roman era. Most hotels have their own thermal swimming pool, curative mud, etc. The International bridge festival was born in 1964. The first name of the tourney was dedicated to Professor Bezzi, a chemist scholar; later it became Aperol Trophy, for the help of the Barbieri Brothers, soft drink manufacturers – Ahh, Aperol! – the thirsty actor exclaimed in the advertisement.
Today the sponsor is Mr. Loris Casadei, Chief Executive of Porsche Italia; in fact, you’ll see wonderful cars in front of the venue.

Starting from Tuesday, we’ll have:
Tuesday: 100 in due. A national pair tourney in which the sum of partners’ age is at least one hundred.
Wednesday: National mixed and ladies pair
Thursday: National open pairs
And, last but no least, on Friday-Sunday: International Team. There are 2600 € for the winners, but need to say that a lot of nice guys are gathering there: Zaleski with Giubilo, Dano De Falco, Gabriella Olivieri, Carlo Totaro, etc.
