We are surprised that you bring this matter to us only now, since the situation existed already before the start of the semifinals.
Although USA 1 during the championship has indeed used a total of 9 players, it was all as a result of substitutions made in accordance with our Covid related rules.
During the semifinals against the Italian team USA 1 in fact used only 5 players of which one is even a junior, substituting for a very experienced world champion.
The rule announced by us for entry to the playing venue was the presentation of an official negative Covid test. Mr. Willenken was only allowed back into the venue after presentation of such a test result.
We must therefore respectfully decline your request for the disqualification of the USA 1 team, and the final will be played between the winning teams from the semifinals.
