By Ana Roth and Fernando Lema – What happened in the Bermuda Bowl today: October 20, 2011.  Round 14. Italy faces USA1 (fifth at end of round 13) and gets a narrow victory: 16-14. The Netherlands remained second after winning 19 to 11 on Brazil, which falls temporarily in 14th  place. USA2 loses 18 to 12 in the match against Singapore and loses one position: third place. Instead Israel maintains his fourth place despite losing 17-13 against New Zealand.

Iceland remains fifth winning 20-10 against Egypt, USA1 is sixth after the match with Italy. Seventh Australia that we announced yesterday as a candidate for quarterfinals, 8th is China.

 Round 15. Italy faces Singapore (that is in the last place) and lost 17-13, but still leads the ranking with 16VP ahead of the second. The “boys” USA2 do well against Australia (22-8 ) and are second at the end of the round. Iceland continues to win, 23-7 with Bulgaria and is third. The Netherlands loses two positions: after the defeat against India 18 to 12, drops to fourth place. Israel in the fifth place. USA1 defeated Pakistan by a wide margin (23-7) and confirmed sixth place. The Sweden defeated 25-5 and enters in the first eight. As we predicted yesterday, Brazil returned close to qualifying with a good result against Canada: 26 to 4.
