Lutto nel bridge polacco: è morto Andrzej Wilkosz

Andrzej Wilkosz  (/www.pzbs.pl)Il 29 dicembre scorso si è spento all’età di 77 anni il grande campione polacco Andrzej Wilkosz. Nel corso della sua lunga carriera bridgistica ha vinto numerosi e prestigiosi titoli nazionali ed internazionali. Tra i più recenti ricordiamo la vittoria ai Mondiali del 2000 a Southampton (Bermuda), e agli Europei del 2001 a Tenerife. In entrambi i casi, Wilkosz ha vinto nella categoria Senior, rappresentando la Polonia. Tra le tante cose per cui Wilkosz verrà ricordato, c’è anche una convenzione inventata da lui: la “2 Quadri Wilkosz”, una variante della convenzione 2 Quadri multicolor. Questa licita è un’apertura di barrage che mostra una mano da 7 a 11 punti e sbilanciata, con distribuzione 5-5 in due colori, di cui almeno uno nobile. Read the full story

Andrzej Wilkosz  (www.pzbs.pl)December 29, 2012 Andrzej Wilkosz passed away at the age of 77. He was a great Polish bridge player, and during his career he won many important national and international tournaments. Amongst the most recent ones we recall the victory in Southampton (Bermuda) 2000 World Championships, and Tenerife 2001 European Championships. In both cases Wilkosz represented the Senior Polish team. Wilkosz will also be remembered for a convention he invented, “Wilkosz 2D”, a variation of the Multi 2D. This preemptive opening bid shows 7 to 11 points and a 5-5 distribution, where one of the two suits must be a major. Read the full story

SILVIO SBARIGIA is a pharmacist; he was born in Rome and lives there. He has won the European championship in 1975 with legendary Blue Team, runner up at 1974’s and at Olympic games of 1976.  Sbarigia is member of Neapolitan Club Technical Commettee.
