There are great people in the Cavendish Invitational

The 2012 Monaco Cavendish Pair and Team Invitational will take place from October 15th to 19th – 15-17th Teams; 17-19th pairs. There are great people, first and foremost the Italians: it looks likely that “…The fine Country there where the sì sounds…” (Dante Alighieri, Inf. XXXIII, 80), will give at least one winner, if not both. There are three Italian teams:  Angelini, Bonori and Lavazza.  It needs to highlight the Bonori Team of Bologna, little known abroad; it is a team who travels little but wins often. The players are Marisa Bonori, Gabriele Gavelli, Maurizio Pattacini, Matteo Montanari and Pier Paolo Bonori. Read the full story

C’è gente grande al Cavendish Invitational. L’edizione di Monaco 2012 del Cavendish Pair and Team Invitational si giocherà dal 15 al 19 ottobre – 15-17 a squadre; 17-19 a coppie. Ci sono grandi giocatori, primi fra tutti gli Italiani. Appare probabile che “Il bel Paese dove il sì suona” possa dare almeno un vincitore, se non entrambi. Ci sono tre squadre italiane: Angelini, Bonori e Lavazza. Occorre però evidenziare la squadra Bonori di Bologna, poco conosciuta all’estero: è una squadra che viaggia poco ma vince spesso. Silvio Sbarigia


SILVIO SBARIGIA is a pharmacist; he was born in Rome and lives there. He has won the European championship in 1975 with legendary Blue Team, runner up at 1974’s and at Olympic games of 1976.  Sbarigia is member of Neapolitan Club Technical Commettee.
