Festival Internazionale del Bridge di Juan-Les-Pins 2012

Juan-Les-Pins – PATTON:  secondo giorno. La riscossa degli italiani. Il Maggiore Charles Lee Patton (1851-1941) fu uno degli inventori del Contro Takeout  e del Movimento Patton per tornei a squadre. Inventato al tempo del Whist, il Patton permette a tutte le squadre, anche se in numero pari, di incontrarsi l’una con l’altra evitando il “tavolo fantasma”, cioè quello dove i giocatori riposavano un turno spettegolando. (Non si faccia confusione tra il nostro Maggiore Charles Lee Patton e il Generale George S. Patton, ambedue americani.)

A Juan Les Pins ci sono quarantaquattro squadre impregnate adesso nel Patton; dopo il secondo giorno è in testa Markovicz (Markowicz, Klukowski, Russyan, Zeligman, 231 VP). Staccati di soli due Imp ci sono gli italiani di Lavazza (Maria Teresa Lavazza in coppia con Duboin, e Bocchi con Ferraro, il vincitore del coppie misto). In terza posizione a -10 arriva un’altra forte squadra italiana, di Bologna e Modena: Bonori (Marisa e Paolo Bonori, Gavelli, Caiti, Pattacini). In quarta posizione c’è Monaco, con Fantoni, Nunes, Allavena, Nathalie Frey, Michaela Baunt (-11). Quinta è White House a -16, con Sabine Auken, Welland, Hermans, Drenkelford.

SILVIO SBARIGIA is a pharmacist; he was born in Rome and lives there. He has won the European championship in 1975 with legendary Blue Team, runner up at 1974’s and at Olympic games of 1976.  Sbarigia is member of Neapolitan Club Technical Commettee.
