Queste sono le squadre in corsa negli ottavi di finale: Monaco (due italiani: Fantoni e Nunes. Ha battuto Gus 151-108) affronta Mary Ann Berg (ha battuto Wu 167-92); Rosenthal NPC (Larsen 137-119) contro Martin Fleisher (Landen 166-84); Carolyn Lynch (Fireman 158-41) contro Danimarca (nella seconda squadra Sabine Auken fa coppia con Roy Welland. Ha battuto Amoils 107-103); John Onstott (Schwartz 140-125) contro Jimmy Cayne (la squadra più italiana, con quattro giocatori: Lauria, Versace, Sementa, Duboin).

Cayne gioca con Michael Seamon. Ha battuto Dunitz 130-42 in tre segmenti); John Diamond (Lebel 192-126) contro Mike Levine (Lew Stansby 141-47 in tre segments: un risuyltato sorprendente; Stansby sembrava forte); Mark Gordon (Cushing 145-102) contro Lou Ann O’Rourke (Sheila Eklebad 183-87); Jeffrey Wolfson (Glubok 145-100) contro Sjoert Brink (Hinze 249-99, il risultato più largo in quattro segmenti. Nella squadra di Brink giocano quattro campioni del mondo olandesi e due finalisti americani, Bathurst e Zagorin); Nick Nickell (Holman 162-47 in tre segmenti) contro Michael Schreiber. Il secondo, Michael Schreiber da Memphis, con I suoi tre compagni Bob Etter, Jim Munday, e Alexander Kolesnik ha battuto Bob Hamman nei trentaduesimi (152-134); poi si è liberato di Jim Mahaffey (145-112), cioè di una squadra con Mahaffey, Forrester, Bocchi, Madala, Gawrys, Sam Lev.

SILVIO SBARIGIA is a pharmacist; he was born in Rome and lives there. He has won the European championship in 1975 with legendary Blue Team, runner up at 1974’s and at Olympic games of 1976.  Sbarigia is member of Neapolitan Club Technical Commettee.
