On July 19, 2016, Fulvio Fantoni and Claudio Nunes have appealed to CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) against the sentence of the FIGB (Italian Bridge Federation) Tribunal, issued on March 19, 2016 and published on April 11, 2016.
The hearing before Coni (Italian Olympic Committee) will be held on October 4th, 2016.

In Italy, the sports trials have three stages of proceedings: 1th – Federal Tribunal; 2nd – Federal Court of Appeals; 3rd – CONI.
On March 19, 2016, the Italian Federal Tribunal decided a 3 years ban for each player. (1st stage)
On April 29, 2016, Fantoni and Nunes submitted a previous appeal but, on June 18, the Federal Court of Appeals rejected their requests. (2nd stage).
On July 19, 2016, Fantoni and Nunes submitted an appeal to CONI. (3rd stage).
On October 4, 2016 the hearing before CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) will be held.
In particular, Fantoni-Nunes’ appeal to CONI asks:
– primarily that the decision of the appeal court on 10th of June, confirming the sanction described on 19th of March, is annulled.
– secondly, to reject all previous decisions made and to restart the examination of the case, following the right law principles.
