The Netherlands won the Sport Accord Bridge World Mind Games in Beijing

The Netherlands won the team championship at the Sport Accord Bridge World Mind Games in Beijing, defeating in the final the Team USA (179-76): Bauke Muller & Simon de Wijs, Sjoert Brink & Bas Drijver, Louk & Rich Verhees Prooijen. Third place to Norway and fourth for China.

Initially, Italy had joined the event and the WBF (World Bridge Federation) published the list of Italian players: Bocchi-Madala, Duboin-Sementa and Attanasio-Failla.   Subsequently, however, Italy withdrew and the Dutch representative – winner of the last Bermuda Bowl in Veldhoven (World Championships 2011)-  was invited.  So The Dutch cashed the first prize of 30 thousand dollars.

In the women section the same amount was won by Team USA that beat Great Britain in the final by 166 to 77: Janice Seamon-Molson & Tobi Sokolow, Lyn Deas & Beth Palmer, Kerri Sanborn & Irina Levitina. 

Third place to China and fourth to France.
