Pierre Zimmermann has been elected the Bridge Personality of the year 2011. The Franco-Swiss bridge sponsor was awarded this title at the Annual General Meeting of the International Bridge Press Assocation last Monday. Mr. Zimmermann deserved this prestigious award due to the fact that he keeps on winning world class events and at the same time initiates new and spectacular events in the world of bridge.
Mr. Zimmermann has formed a powerful bridge team with which he hopes to represent Monaco at European and World Championships. So far the authorities are reluctant to honor his requests. Still, by now it is certain that his team is allowed to participate in the 2012 Mind Sport Games.
