Ireland won the 2014 Teltscher Trophy: Padraig O’Briain, Micheal O’Briain, David Jackson, Tom Gibson, Stephen Bearpark, Brendan Curran, NPC BJ O’Brien. Runner up was Great Britain: Bernard Teltscher (PC), Tony Priday, Gunnar Halberg, John Holland, Willie Coyle, Victor Silverstone. Third place went to England: Clive Owen, Brian Senior, David Kendrick, Roger Gibbons, NPC Simon Cochemé.
This year the event, hosted by NIBU (Northern Ireland Bridge Union), was held in Belfast on 16th of May 2014
The Teltscher Trophy, previously known as ‘the Senior Camrose’, is competed for by players over 60 years of age from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland. To provide a balanced movement a sixth team termed ‘Great Britain’ is included.
The inaugural edition was held in 2008 and in 2014 the Senior Camrose has been renamed Teltscher Trophy in honour of Bernard Teltscher who sponsored the event for the first five years. The 2014 edition was sponsored by the Norther Ireland player Ian Lindsay.
