InterCity League Spring 2012 – In the Round of 16, Praha has won by their usual impressive average: +84 in 24 boards against Edinburgh. This result is worth an exclamation mark on forecasting the result of the next match; but Praga’s opponent in quarterfinal is a team who always demonstrated a great desire of victory: Ascoli Piceno, who eliminated another British team, Cloonboo of Ireland (+54).

Nikšić of Montenegro won against Parnu (+19); the Serbians of Niš eliminated Wroclaw (+32), the runner up of the past edition; the Norwegian Egedal eliminated Žužemberk. All the other three British teams reached the quarterfinals: Wales United against Split (+32), Cardiff over Ljubljana (+25), and Manchester over Konstanz (+23).

The quarter finals will be played on Wednesday 9 at the usual time: 20,45 CET (London Time +1). The names in brackets are of Captains:

Wales United (pjs_ch) Cardiff (Coch Draig)

Nikšić (Vesna567) Manchester (yo_yo)

Niš (vlajce) Egedal (nielsfoged)

Praha (medlin) Ascoli Piceno (turbin)

The big matches are of course Praha-Ascoli Piceno and the fratricidal one between the Welsh teams.
