Grzegorz NarkiewiczIn the next cycle (starting with 2013 Spingold) Norberto Bocchi and Agustin Madala will play in the US Nationals with a new team: Gromov-Dubinin from Russia and Buras-Narkiewicz from Poland. The news came from the interview Grzegorz Narkiewicz granted Norberto some days ago. Thus, we asked Grzegorz to tell us something more about this new project. In homage to our many readers from Poland we also publish a Polish edition of the interview.

In the next cycle you will play in the US National with a new team: yourself, your partner, Madala, Bocchi, Gromov, and Dubinin. Can you tell us how this project started?

Every one of our pairs has been taking part in the ACBL tournaments for years now. Andrej Gromov has had the idea to form this team for a while and he could be called the “father” of the project. The main idea behind it is simple: will to win, and with this team it is obviously a possibility.

You will have the opportunity to play with great teammates. Can you give us a brief profile of the pairs you will play with?

Krzysztof and I  know Andrei and Alexander very well, we have played together many times and we often hang out during tournaments. As for Agustin and Norberto, we have played against them many times and we have participated in the same competitions but we have not yet had the chance to play in the same team. I am particularly friendly with Norberto, we always joke around and talk about many things, not only related to bridge. Each of these pairs have tons of fantastic characteristics and attributes, they’ve been playing together for a long time, have great bidding systems and simply gel at the table, to name just a few of their qualities. Every one of these players presents world class level and a lot should be expected from this team, so please do demand that we do our best!!! We hope to deliver quite a show, and that is what I wish to all the spectators!
