From 20 to 28 May 2011 Cuba hosts the 26th CACBF Zonal Championship. The winners of the open, women and seniors qualify for the Bermuda Bowl 2011 in Veldhoven, The Netherlands. Cuba is a new WBF-member and it’s first time the Caribbean island hosts Bridge Championships: Therefore this event can be regarded as historic.
The president of the Cuban Bridge Asscociation is Mrs Enma Castro Ruz
(sister of Fidel Castro). The Editor of the Official Bulletin is Jan van Cleeff, publisher of BridgeTopics.com and Executive Vice-President of IBPA (International Bridge Press Association). In Cuba there is also Mr. Josè Damiani, WBF President Emeritus. In these amusing pictures we can see Josè and Jan enjoying the delights of Cuba…
