Harry van de Peppel is the official behind the Cheating Hotline of the Netherlands Bridge Federation (NBB -Nederlandse Bridge Bond). The popular Dutch magazine IMP asked him a comment about the latest verdict issued by the by the Court of Düsseldorf.
Harry van de Peppel, told IMP that firstly, he has yet to receive any accusation of cheating. The verdict about the ‘coughing doctors’ shows that, should alleged cheating occur, it is the NBB – not the WBF, for example – that should take action to possibly discipline offenders. Also that we must keep a watchful eye on the legal situation and consequences. ‘Fortunately’, says Van de Peppel, ‘we have lawyers to fall back on’.
