2016 Schapiro Spring Foursomes

shapiro 2The Schapiro Spring Foursomes will be held at the Holiday Inn in  Stratford-upon-Avon (England) from 29th April – 3rd May 2016.  This tournament is one of the great events in the English calendar: it is in memory of a great English player, Boris Schapiro.

Format: It is run on double-elimination lines over nine sessions each of 32 boards.

There are also two team side events: the Punchbowl, a mini knock-out reserved to the teams dropped from the main event after the second defeat, and the Hamilton Cup Swiss Teams, open to all.

Frances Hinden, Jeffrey Allerton, Jon Cooke and Graham Osborne won the 2015’s edition.

Silvio Sbarigia

 

SILVIO SBARIGIA is a pharmacist; he was born in Rome and lives there. He has won the European championship in 1975 with legendary Blue Team, runner up at 1974’s and at Olympic games of 1976.  Sbarigia is member of Neapolitan Club Technical Commettee.
