Doping: disqualification requested for Italian bridge player

coni logo 4The Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) has announced that a disqualification of three months has been requested for Roberto Rivera. The Italian bridge player was   found positive in the anti-doping analyses. There were traces of hydrochlorothiazide and chlorothiazide in the sample taken by the Control Committee of CONI NADO (National Anti-Doping Organization) on 1st of June 2013 in Salsomaggiore during the Italian Mixed Teams Championships. The reason of requested disqualification is a violation of Article 2.1 of WADA code.

Roberto Rivera took part in the Italian Mixed Teams Championships in team Hugony – ASD N. CANOTTIERI OLONA (with Fabrizio Hugony, Roberto Rivera, Barbara Dessi, Vera Tagliaferri, Leonardo Cima, Laura Consonni), who ended up fifth in the Excellence series.

The Italian Mixed Teams Championships were held in Salsomaggiore Terme (Parma, Italy) between 30/5 and 2/6 2013.
