DBV: Provisional Suspension for Elinescu and Wladow

DBVThe German bridge federation (DBV – Deutscher Bridge Verband) has announced the provisional suspension of Elinescu and Wladow.

The two German players cannot participate in national and international events – both individually and as a pair – until the outcome of the appeal against the WBF ruling.

Michael Elinescu and Entscho Wladow have been found guilty of reprehensible conduct by a special Committee instituted by the World Bridge Federation. The facts are related to the 2013 World Championships in Bali, where Elinescu and Wladow won the gold medal in Seniors’ category (D’Orsi Bowl).

This website is intended for German readers: It offers a review of the main articles in the German and international press and picks up the official documentation on the case: there is also an open letter (“Offener Brief”) written by three members of the DBV. The purpose of the author is mainly to document how the DBF is handling the case.
