InterCity League (ICL) 18th edition. On Wednesday 17th of October, Tonci Radelja (Cobrad in BBO) will start the 18th edition of BBO InterCity League; it will end in January 2013. ICL is a Team event played on BBO twice a year by teams of European towns; all the world could participate, but the playing time has to be in the European evening. The teams’ names must be of a town, but the players are allowed from everywhere; there are no limits to the number of players per team.

The tourney’s format is in two phases: qualifying round robin with one 16 board match per week – this must end within December 13th – then a knock-out stage, quarter finals, semifinals, final, on 24 board matches. The mandatory playing time is Wednesday 8:45-9 pm CET (London +1, East Coast +6), unless both captains agree for different time. Here is the League’s url:

Results and schedule after 2nd round can be followed on:

Who are willing to participate (and deal with the burden of being captain) can register writing to radelja@gradst.hr. Also single players and pairs can ask to play: Radelja will search a team for them.

The holders are the Welsh of Cardiff, who in the spring’s final defeated the four times winner Ascoli Piceno (no other team has still won more than once).
