The Fifth edition of the European Open Bridge Championships, generally called “European Open”, will be held in Poznan, Poland, from 17 June to 2 July 2011.

The event is organized by the European Bridge League (EBL) in cooperation with the Polish Bridge Union. This event is the newest European competition: It was established in 2003 as a competition open to all players, including – for the first time – even non-Europeans. Transnational combinations are allowed, and there are no restrictive quotas for any nation.

The European Open, conceived by EBL President Gianarrigo Rona, is held every odd-numbered year and includes pairs and teams tournaments in each of the four categories: open, women, seniors and mixed.
