leggi in italiano »

The Albert H. Morehead Memorial Library in Memphis, with its 3,000 volumes, is the largest library in the world dedicated to the bridge. The Library has been named by American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) to the memory of Albert Morehead, a member of the ACBL Hall of Fame and a great bibliophile.

His collection of books donated to the ACBL has been the solid foundation to build the library. Then, in fact, ACBL has also acquired the personal libraries of Edgar Kaplan, Alfred Sheinwold, and Alan Truscott.

In addition to books the library also has many several pubblications including entire collections of prestigious international magazines such as The Bridge World and Bridge Magazine.

Among the many treasures held in Morehead Memorial Library a copy of the essay by Edmond Hoyle, “A Short Treatise on the Game of Whist” published in 1746.
