Jurmala 2014The 8th Bridge Tournament “Riga invites to Jurmala” will be held from 13 – 17 August, 2014 in Jurmala (Latvia). The event comprises the Invitational tournament, Teams tournament and the Pairs tournament.

Format – The Invitational tournament is played by 24 pairs. All pairs are invited by the organizers. The Invitational tournament will be broadcasted on TV. In the Teams tournament teams are playing 9 rounds by Swiss system. After 9 rounds top 4 teams play semi-final and the winners plays finals. All rounds are played 8 boards by round, semi-finals and finals are played 12 boards by round. In the Pairs tournament 3 sessions are played, 24 boards each. Players play 2 boards against opponents in one round. Scoring is by match points.

Entrance fees – Entrance fee for the Teams tournament is EUR 100,- per team. Entrance fee for the Pairs tournament is EUR 70,- per pair.

Prizes – First 3 places in the Invitational tournament receive cups. First 3 places in the Teams tournament receive medals and cash prizes. In the Pairs tournament first 3 places receive medals; cash prizes receive 10% of the field. Special prizes for best woman pair, best mixt pair, best Latvian pair and best junior pair from Latvia. Total amount of cash prizes – 50%.
