7th European Small Federation Games

Small Fed 2014Latvian Bridge Federation welcomes all players to the 7th Small Federation Games, which will be held in Jūrmala, Latvia, from the 30th of September till the 5th of October, 2014.

Format – Small Federation Games are open to the European NBO’s which has up to 500 registered members. Every “Small Federation” can send one team of 4 to 6 players. Teams are divided into 2 groups. At the end of the round-robin qualifier the first two ranked teams will play a knockout match of 24 boards (two 12-board segments: 1st of group A Vs 2nd of group B and 1st of group B Vs 2nd of group A) in semi-final. The winners of semi-final will play a 24-board final (two 12-board segments) to determine the title; the losers will play a 24-board playoff (two 12-board segments) for third place. Other teams play in consolation to determine rest places. Latvian Open Pairs Championship is open for all players and it is played 3 sessions by 24-30 boards each session. Scoring is by match points.

Entrance fees – There is no entrance fee for the Small Federation games. Entrance fee for the Pairs tournament is EUR 40,- per pair.

Prizes – First 3 places in the Small Federation Games receive EBL master points and cup. In the Pairs tournament first 3 places receive medals; cash prizes receive 10% of the field. Total amount of cash prizes – 50%.
