The Poles continued to roll in the 49th Israel Bridge Festival, currently under way (February 20-26) at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds.
A team consisting of Michal Klukowski-Michal Nowosadzki and Katarzyna Dufrat-Justina Zmuda, winners of the Mixed Teams two days earlier, took first place in Monday’s Board-A-Match Teams. It was the third victory in four tries for the young Poles; Klukowski-Nowosadzki also were first in the two-session IMP pairs.
Israelis were second (Pinhas Romik, Julian Frydrich, Yossi Engel, Adrian Schwartz and Shalom Zeligman) and third (Assaf-Lengy-Ilan Bareket, Alon Birman, Yossi Roll and Gilad Altshuler) were third.
Competition continues on February 24 with the qualifying rounds of the Open Teams, one of the main events in the annual Festival, with the participation of number of foreign and Israeli stars who participated in Moscow’s Slava Cup over the weekend.
