26th International Bridge Festival in Biarritz – From Friday, July 1 2011 to Wednesday, July 13 2011. Lavazza 1 (Maria Teresa Lavazza, Giorgio Duboin Guido Ferraro, Antonio Sementa) won the Patton tournament, at second place Lavazza 2 (Giuseppe Lavazza, Alfredo Versace, Norberto Bocchi, Agustin Madala) and third place to Pessoa (Pessoa, Silva Santos, Morbey, Goncalves Pereira).
At fourth place the De Bottn team with Arthur MALINOWSKI, Janet DE BOTTON, CHARLSEN, HOFTANISKA.
The first edition of the Biarritz International Bridge Festival was held in 1986.
Biarritz is a lovely place in the Basque Coast and in the recent years has become one of the most bridge event in Europe, thanks to the rich program and the partecipation of international top players.
Italian players have a successfull tradition: in the Open Pairs as well as in Teams tournaments Italy reached 6 victories. Norberto Bocchi won the title four times in Open Pairs: in 1995 and 2003 with Giorgio Duboin, in 1990 with Alfredo Versace and in 1989 with Giagio Rinaldi.
