The 23th European Youth Team Championship in Albena – Girls. Polish Girls win the gold medal in Albena: Magdalena HOLEKSA, Aleksandra JAROSZ, Danuta KAZMUCHA, Joanna TACZEWSKA, Izabela WEINHOLD, Justyna ZMUDA (and not playing captain Miroslaw CICHOCKI). Silver to Nedherland and bronze to France. Italian girls reach the fourth place.

Within a few years Poland can be expected to be a serious candidate for the Venice Cup, the world bridge title for women’s teams”.
