The 14th World Bridge Series will be held in Sanya, Hainan, China from 10th to 25th October 2014 hosted by the Chinese Contract Bridge Association (CCBA) in cooperation with Sanya City and Beijing Lianzhong Co., Ltd.
This will be the first time that the World Bridge Series Championships have gone to a city outside Europe and America.
The Open Team is called “Rosenblum Cup” in memory of Julius Rosenblum (1906-1978), WBF president 1970-1976. Julius Rosenblum has been in Neaples in 1951: he was the np captain of the US team that won the second Bermuda Bowl beating the European Champions (Blue Team).
All Italian Stars will participate in the 2014 Rosenblum Cup. Here the list of the Italian players registered in Rosenblum Cup so far.
The team sponsored by Maria Teresa LAVAZZA consists of Norberto Bocchi, Giorgio Duboin, Alejandro Bianchedi, Agustin Madala, Zia Mahmood, Ernesto Muzzio. Muzzio is a new entry in Lavazza Team: he will play with his regular partner Bianchedi.
Lorenzo Lauria and Alfredo Versace will play in the team sponsored by Jimmy CAYNE with Cezary Balicki, Michael Seamon, and Adam Zmudzinski.
There is also an Italian team sponsored by the Italian Bridge Federation denominated ITALIA: Aldo Giovanni Gerli, Matteo Baldi, Nicola Del Buono, Francesco Murgia, Pierfrancesco Parolaro, Gianni Patelli and Valeria Gardini (non-playing captain).
