2014 Pakistan Day Tournament: First Outcomes

Brian Senior (by Michele Leone)At Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi is taking place the Pakistan Day International Bridge Tournament. It started yesterday with a pair event – ninety-two pairs – won by Ghuifran Ashraf and Shabab Khan, followed by English Brian Senior and Sandra Penfold; third came Anwar Sultan and Khalid Manzur. It needs to scroll the standing until the tenth place to find another European pair, also English: Jason and Justin Hackett.

Today and tomorrow is taking place the Team event. There are many Pakistani teams, from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad;  and some foreign teams including: China men: Limin Wang, Hua Liang, Zhewei, Huizhong Zhao, Tanlu Guo, Rhenda Zhang; China women: Mei Zhang, Ling Chuan Fang, Xia Ma, Jaifu Shan, Haiyan Zhang, Ms. Shuxia Yang; Jordan: Mrs. Ranada, Mrs. Mays, Ms. Aida, Samer Alrawashbe, Muhammad Hailkal, Sakhe; United Kingdom 2 (UK2): Jason Hackett, Justin Hackett, Mike Bell, Alex Hydes; Turkey: Ender Akasuyek, Mehmet Ali, Dr. Nese Mercan, Ergun Cuhadar; Barmy Army (UK1): Ed Jones, Tom Paske, Brian Senior, Sandra Penfold.

Paske and Jones, in UK1, are both twenty-five years old.
