2012 Italian Club Team Championships: The winner is…

There is nothing new under the sun. The final stage of the The Italian Club Team Championships was held in Salsomaggiore Terme (Parma) from 27 to  30 September. In the Open section Allegra from Turin (Lavazza Team)  repeated its last year’s victory, defeating in the final the Reggio Emilia Team by a wide margin: 257 – 162 IMPs. Lavazza obtained a clear  and foretold victory. The traditional rival, Angelini Team,  did not qualify for final, thus no real obstacles on the road to title for Maria Teresa’s stars: Norberto Bocchi, Giorgio Duboin, Guido Ferraro, Agustin Madala and Antonio Sementa.

The same happened In the Women’s section. The defending team  from  Reggio Emilia confirmed its victory with Angela De Biasio, Donatella Gigliotti, Cristina Golin, Gabriella Olivieri, Annalisa Rosetta and Marilina Vanuzzi. Second place went to Catania Team : Aurora Di Pietro, Eleonora Duboin, Caterina Ferlazzo, Sondra Gianino, Piera Maggi, Gabriella Manara, Pinella Prato and Rosa Maria Tamburelli. Thrid place went to La Vela from Ancona: M. Letizia Berti, Claudia Castignani,  Patrizia Cecconi, Ornella Cottone, Darinka Forti, Favia Nicolello, Rita Pasquarè,  Giovanna Piccioni, Donatella Pinna, Giovanna Ranfagnani and Paola Ronchi.

Full Open Team Podium:
1st – Allegra from Turin (Lavazza): Norberto Bocchi, Giorgio Duboin, Guido Ferraro, Agustin Madala, Maria Teresa Lavazza and Antonio Sementa.
2nd – Reggio Emilia: Mauro Basile, Andrea Buratti, Amedeo Comella, Gianfranco Facchini, Ezio Fornaciari, Carla Gianardi, Aldo Mina and Gian Paolo Ruspa.
3rd – Val di Magra: Stefano Caiti, Robin Fellus, Massimo Lanzarotti, Andrea Manno, Cristiano Miozzi and Maurizio Pattacini.

The Tennis Team from Rome, who in previous stage eliminated Angelini Team, did not reaches the podium and ended in fourth place.

SILVIO SBARIGIA is a pharmacist; he was born in Rome and lives there. He has won the European championship in 1975 with legendary Blue Team, runner up at 1974’s and at Olympic games of 1976.  Sbarigia is member of Neapolitan Club Technical Commettee.
